Guided Tours

In the vicinity of the Airport there are trails reserved for mountain biking and paths for hiking in the adjacent parks. Every route is always perfectly passable because of the constant maintenance and cleanliness of our workers.

On days when it is not possible to fly, you can contact our secretary for itineraries that lead to visits to the city of Pavullo, Montecuccolo Castle, the Park and the Ducal Palace with its ever-changing exhibitions.

Toward the south, you can visit the theme parks of the Mount Cimone, Lago Santo and Lago della Ninfa, the CAMM center of the Air Force with the Cimone Weather Station, the “House of Stone Lions” in Montecreto, the municipalities of Fanano, Sestola, Pievepelago and Fiumalbo on the road leading to the Abetone Pass, towards Tuscany.

Also, for everyone, two extraordinary cultural and gastronomic opportunities.

One can go to the vinegar cellars of Spilamberto, where traditional balsamic vinegar of Modena is matured, refined and aged. And pay a visit to the dairies near the Airport, where a true cult has been practiced for centuries: the production of Parmigiano Reggiano, King of Italian cheeses.

Other specialties of our area are also not to be missed. Prosciutto crudo di Modena, along with all the cured meats produced on small and large farms in the surrounding area, as well as zampone. Tortellini and tortelloni hand-folded by the “Rezdòre,” made with fresh, zero-mileage ingredients, to be enjoyed while drinking Lambrusco DOC red wine from Sorbara or Grasparossa di Castelvetro, Pignoletto white wine, and fragrant Nocino liqueur.

Pavullo Airport collaborates assiduously with Piacere Modena, the project to enhance the territory, tradition, history and typical products of Modena, PDO and PGI excellences.

One cannot miss a visit to the city of Modena, with the splendid Ghirlandina and the adjacent Cathedral dating back to 1100, a UNESCO heritage site, the Military Academy, the city arcades, and the “Luciano Pavarotti” Municipal Theater, dedicated to the famous tenor of Modenese origin.

North of Pavullo lies the Motor Valley. If you are a motor enthusiast, you can visit the Ferrari Gallery in Maranello, at which there is also the “Rosse” test track, and the Ferrari Museum in Modena. The factories of Maserati and Pagani, Dallara and Stanguellini, Ducati and Lamborghini, all between Modena, Parma and Bologna, can also be visited.

Still to the north, one can head to Bologna, the “Dotta” home of Europe’s first university “Alma Mater,” with beautiful squares, churches and porticoes, as well as Reggio Emilia and Parma, home of musician Giuseppe Verdi, always performed in the famous Teatro Regio.

A little farther away, but still within a few hours, are Mantua with its famous Piazza delle Erbe and its book fairs; Ferrara with its castle and Este palaces; and Verona with its magnificent Arena, where you can attend concerts of classical, opera and contemporary music.

The airport guesthouse is ready to welcome you, with its five perfectly furnished double rooms marked with the names of the most famous gliders designed by Swiss-Pavulian Luigi Teichfuss. In addition to the guesthouse, there are several facilities (hotels, B&Bs, agritourism farms…) in which to stay during one’s stay in Pavullo.
